Allotments

The Parish Council leases land from the Duchy of Cornwall in order to provide allotments for Stoke residents.  Allotment sites are located in North Street, Furlands and Stonehill.  The Parish Clerk manages each site, and will be able to advise you on current availability of plots. Please contact the Parish Clerk at [email protected] if you live within the Parish and would like to rent an allotment. Availability at your chosen site may be limited in which case you may ask to be added to the waiting list for that site. 

In these conditions ‘the Council’ shall mean the Parish Council of Stoke sub Hamdon, and the Allotment shall mean either a ‘Full Allotment’(equivalent to 10 perches or thereabouts), or a ‘Half Allotment’ (equivalent to 5 perches or thereabouts)

As a pre-condition, all plot holders must enter into a formal lease arrangement with the Parish Council which sets out the terms and conditions with which the allotment holder must comply at all times.  New tenants are required to pay a one­ off non-­returnable fee of £25 per Full Allotment Garden, or £12.50 per Half Allotment Garden, and are expected to leave such Allotment Gardens clear at the end of such tenancy.
